Prior to Aster Farms Julia was co-founder and CEO of NMRKT, an affiliate marketing platform for content providers. She led the company through TechStars and it's acquisition by XO Group in 2016, where she went on to be the Director of National Revenue Products. Julia's career began as a buyer for Bloomingdale's, giving her a solid foundation in retail and supply chain economics. Today, Julia continues to be a mentor to TechStars and to young entrepreneurs in many fields. Sam’s family has roots in Lake and Mendocino Counties, the home region of Northern California’s Aster Farms. Sam’s grandparents raised his father’s family on Signal Ridge at The Sundance Ranch, where they resided for over forty years. The ranch offered a unique learning experience for Sam growing up, as it was, and continues to be, a sustainable, off-the-grid farm run by the family. Another uncle resides in Lakeport, where he owns and operates an award-winning organic olive farm. Sam channels the family passion for eco-conscious farming and sustainability into Aster, coupled with his storied journey founding a creative agency working side-by-side with some of the greatest talents in the film as a producer and conceptual partner for directors, production companies, ad agencies, and brands. See, Sam’s no stranger to hard work and the toils of entrepreneurship—there’s that time in high school he created Krooked Skateboards in his Oakland garage and sold it to legendary skater Mark Gonzales, turning Krooked into an iconic global brand. Sam’s film work is top-tier, too.
