The Last Prisoner Project with Mary Bailey. Mary serves as the Managing Director for The Last Prisoner Project. The Last Prisoner Project is a coalition of cannabis industry leaders, executives, and artists dedicated to bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry through intervention, advocacy, and awareness. Mary is the CEO and founder of Alpha Agency, a Hawaii based production company specializing in creating events that inspire positive social change through music, education, and community engagement. Mary’s passion for cannabis advocacy and community education inspired her to become the Executive Producer and founder of the Maui Cannabis Conference. As a firm believer in the power of cannabis to heal, she is dedicated to changing the stigma surrounding cannabis and to help inspire a more socially conscious cannabis industry. The Last Prisoner Project focuses on three key criminal justice reform initiatives: clemency, expungement, and reentry. A core focus of the project is to release incarcerated individuals. Data shows, however, that released prisoners are destined to fail without the proper resources in place. Reentry can be incredibly difficult, and two-thirds of released prisoners will be arrested again within three years. Additionally, a criminal record can be a significant barrier to employment, housing, financial assistance, and more.
